If you have had any previous doubts as to whether Barack Obama is on a mission to destroy marriage in America, the following should settle the issue for you:  

“You will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men or two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman.”

The statement above was made by President Obama speaking at the Human Rights Campaign national dinner, Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Washington, DC.  Keep in mind that the major political context (background) for these statements by Obama are the “don't ask, don't tell” gay-policy of the military, and the on-going struggle by gay activists to force the entire U.S. and every state in the U.S. to accept so-called same-sex marriage. 

The breath taking audacity of Obama's statement contradicts the known facts of human biology and physiology;  contradicts the wisdom and practice of thousands of years of recorded history; contradicts thousands of years of Biblical (Jewish and Christian) scholarship and wisdom; and contradicts the wisdom, practice, and desires of a majority of American citizens. 

Obama's atrocious statement coupled with his presumptuous use of the pronoun "we" throughout his speech, reminds us that this unspeakable ideologue-interloper in the White House intends to destroy America's culture along with his on-going destruction of America's economy and national security.  And what is to replace thousands of years of wisdom extracted from the collective experience of millions of people?  Why there's only one thing needed: A single pronouncement from the all-wise, all-knowing One, Barack Obama.

Obama along with leftist judges and some leftist state legislatures are seeking to obliterate the ancient meaning of marriage.

“On Tuesday, April 7, 2009, the Vermont Legislature overrode Gov. Jim Douglas’ veto of a bill allowing gays and lesbians to marry. The vote came nine years after Vermont adopted its first-in-the-nation civil union law. It’s now the fourth state to permit same-sex marriage along with Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa and the first state to approve same-sex marriage by legislative instead of judicial action.”

Reflect for a moment on the oxymoron, same-sex marriage.  An oxymoron is a figure of speech that couples together two contradictory terms such as, hot ice, cold fire, wise fool, sad joy, and more modern ones such as social justice (justice can only be administered individually, not to a group, it's not a group concept); and the term social justice is used as a euphemism for redistribution of wealth, an absolute injustice.  The term same-sex contradicts the ancient meaning of marriage which has been defined, through all eons of recorded history, as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman. 

To fully appreciate the destructive effect of having judges and legislators change the meaning of here-to-fore well-understood words, drag out your old copy of George Orwell's 1984, or download a free copy from the Internet.  – Reference (3) at bottom. 

The book, 1984, is packed with humorous but frightening oxymorons: “...the three slogans of the Party:
WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.” 

There is actually no difference in what the ruling powers (personalized as Big Brother) in Ingsoc were doing in the novel, 1984, and what judges and politicians who corrupt our language in America are doing with such word-perversions as same-sex marriage.  However, just the act of word-perversion alone will not accomplish the social-upheaval planned by Obama and others who hate America's traditions and culture.  Yes, I used the word hate.  Barack Obama continues to demonstrate his disrespect and hatred for America's traditions.

As expected, he [Obama] also mentioned his support for a laundry list of homosexual activist issues, including bringing an end to the military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on homosexuals serving in the military and overturning the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.

“The condescension is glaring," LaBarbera said. "He’s really putting down millions and millions of faithful, moral-minded citizens and dismissing traditional beliefs with such arrogance, it is almost indescribable. It really is amazing.”
“It's just hateful rhetoric,” LaBarbera added. “It’s a different kind of hate, to be sure, but it is hate – he hates our Judeo-Christian tradition.[emphasis mine]””

Word-perversion is a part of what is described in 1984 as newspeak.  “The sacred principles of Ingsoc. Newspeak, doublethink, the mutability of the past.”  The word Ingsoc in oldspeak means English Socialism.

The Obama administration has been very active in the politically-controlling game of newspeak.  Remember when the Obama state department changed “war on terrorism” to “overseas contingency operations”.  Remember when Janet Napolitano (Obama's Homeland Security Secretary) changed “terrorism” to “man-caused disaster”.  These are illustrations of newspeak.  But they are actually not the most virulent form of newspeak.  In these incidents, terms are simply replaced, not totally obliterated. 

Much more dangerous is the act of changing the meaning of a long-used and well-respected term.  Such as the term marriage.  Think about this.  If the word-perverting judges and politicians have their way, in 50 to 100 years there will literally be no term that designates the covenant relationship between one man and one woman.  In newspeak, marriage will mean some sort of relationship between a something and a something else. And who knows what the somethings will be.  Man to man?  Woman to woman? Man to animal?  Woman to tree?  Dog to dog?  And why restrict it to binary relations?  Man-man-woman?  Woman-woman-man? Person to a flock of sheep?  Who knows?  Once a society submits to the corruption of a long-standing sacred word and concept, where does it stop?  By the way, has someone determined that leftist judges and leftist politicians own the English language?

Remember from 1984 “The sacred principles of Ingsoc. Newspeak, doublethink, the mutability of the past.” 

As dangerous as it is, Newspeak alone will not lock a free society into tyranny.  In addition there must be two other things: Doublethink and mutability of the past (changing history).  First doublethink.  There must be a leader and enough followers who think as described in 1984:

“Winston sank his arms to his sides and slowly refilled his lungs with air. His mind slid away into the labyrinthine world of doublethink. To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it...to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself. That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce  unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ’doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink. “

We have seen on television and in replays on YouTube (and other equivalents) how descriptive the above paragraph is of Barack Obama.  We have witnessed him “...[appearing] conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out...”  One of the clearest illustrations of this is the untruthful statement made by Obama concerning his position on single-payer healthcare, here are two recorded, completely contradictory statements made by Obama:

2003: "I happen to be a Proponent of a Single-Payer Universal Health Care Plan."
2009: "I have not said that I was a Single-Payer Supporter."

Finally, the mutability of history (rewriting history).  Obama seems to fancy himself as something of a history buff.  Unfortunately he can't seem to separate actual history from his left wing, ideological version.  Here's quotes from Obama's Cairo speech (June 04, 2009):

"As a student of history, I also know civilisation’s debt to Islam. It was Islam – at places like Al-Azhar University – that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment. It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality."

Unfortunately, Dear Leader was once again repeating Far Left talking points and not facts. Here is what he forgot to mention:

– The compass- The use of a magnetic compass as a direction finder occurred sometime before 1044, but incontestable evidence for the use of the compass as a navigational device did not appear until 1119 in China. The earliest reference to an iron fish-like compass in the Islamic world occurs in a Persian talebook from 1232- Wikipedia.

– The pen- Ancient Egyptians developed writing on papyrus scrolls when scribes used thin reed brushes or reed pens. The quill pen was used in Qumran, Judea to write some of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and then introduced into Europe by around 700 AD before the founding of Islam. Ma'ād al-Mu'izz, the Fatimid Caliph of Egypt, was provided a fountain pen 250 years later- Wikipedia.

– Printing- Woodblock printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns used widely throughout East Asia and originating in China in antiquity as a method of printing on textiles and later paper- Wikipedia.

Obama and his minions are working hard to destroy the meaning of marriage and to impose upon American society  “The sacred principles of Ingsoc. Newspeak, doublethink, the mutability of the past.”
