Elijah Friedeman, the Millennial Perspective
A new Rasmussen poll shows that most Americans are distrustful of the media.
- Only 4% of Americans trust reporters more than themselves on what's good for America.
- Just 23% of Americans say the average reporter has the same political views as they do.
- Two-thirds of voters say the media tries to get their candidate elected.
- 53% think reporters are more liberal than they are.
- Just 21% say reporters try to offer unbiased coverage.
You would think the media would wake up to the fact that they aren't trusted or, most of the time, even liked by your average person. This is why networks like MSNBC and CNN have falling ratings. And why papers all over the nation are seeing a fall in circulation.
The American people are tired of being coerced and lied to by the media. If we keep going at this rate, the mainstream news outlets will no longer be able to operate because nobody wants to hear the filth they're spewing.
I'll be interested to see if more networks start to follow the example of FOX, and offer balanced news with a conservative bent. That's what's selling. MSNBC's Obama glorification is definitely not.
