I've said repeatedly that no Gitmo detainee in his right mind would want to leave the balmy tropical setting he now enjoys in the Caribbean, along with the soccer fields, the picnic tables, the game room, the TV room and the taxpayer funded Korans literally handled with white gloves for a cramped cell and 23-hour a day lockdown in icy Illinois. Ain't gonna happen.
I will flat out guarantee you that the minions of the ACLU will go to court and claim that the poor souls of these murderous thugs will be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment if they are transferred to Thomson. Cruel and unusual punishment, apparently, is to be reserved for ordinary American thugs who want to take out one or two innocent Americans instead of an entire plane load.
Here's betting that, as Ed Morrissey suggests, a sympathetic activist judge will order Mr. Obama to leave these jokers right where they are, on the grounds that Gitmo conditions are far more humane than the president's preferred choice. Let's watch the president fulminate about judicial activism, and then start blaming the judges for the next terrorist attempt on U.S. soil. It will be a kick to watch.
