In the New York senate there is a power struggle going on right now between the Republicans and Democrats. Two Democrats switched to the Republicans side giving the Republicans the majority. Now the Democrats are throwing hissy fits, and literally locking themselves in the legislative chamber to keep the Republicans from taking control.

Not only that, but when the Republicans finally gained control of the senate, and opened the session with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Democrats refused to stand. When one of the Democrats tried to stand, he was pulled down by his colleagues.

But don't question their patriotism. If you do, then you're just being a bigoted right wing radical.
